Program Overview Girls hold the power to change the world around them. Through the STEM Goes Red program, students will be exposed to real-world women's health challenges and be part of the solution.
Brenda Guerrero and Aaron Lee, members of the Class of 2022 at Proviso West High School, were recently awarded apprenticeships through The Technology and Manufacturing Association and Principal Manufacturing Corporation in Broadview, IL. They both will receive a FULLY paid education while beginning their careers on their chosen paths. Brenda will receive training as a CNC apprentice, and Aaron will receive training as a tool and die maker. These two students will be the first of many to become career-ready through our Advanced Manufacturing Program, showing that District 209 is committed to the continuing growth of manufacturing, preparing our scholars for Tool & Die, Machine Maintenance, Mold Making, and CNC apprenticeship programs and careers. Their accomplishment was celebrated in an apprenticeship commitment signing ceremony in the Advanced Manufacturing lab at Proviso West High School on Monday, April 25, 2022.
